Community Guidelines
Gila has a community Habit Library — habits that real people on a GLP-1 journey have built and chosen to share, so others can discover what actually works. These guidelines keep that library safe, kind, and genuinely useful. By submitting a habit to the community, you agree to them. We have written them in plain English on purpose — if anything is unclear, email us at support@gila.coach.
The one rule behind all the others
Share things that could help another person build a healthy habit — never things that could harm them. Gila is a coaching companion, not a clinic. Community habits are peer suggestions, not medical advice, and are not a substitute for your doctor or pharmacist.
What you can share
- Concrete, repeatable habits with a clear trigger and action — e.g. "After my morning coffee, take a 10-minute walk."
- Encouragement, practical tips, and what genuinely worked for you.
- Habits across nutrition, movement, hydration, mindfulness, sleep, medication adherence, and mood.
What you can't share
We remove — and you must not submit — habits that:
- give specific medical or dosage instructions as fact (for example, changing the timing or amount of a medication);
- promote disordered eating, extreme restriction, purging, fasting beyond medical guidance, or compulsive exercise;
- contain harassment, hate speech, sexual content, or spam;
- make false, misleading, or manipulative health claims;
- target, shame, or expose another person, or share anyone's private information.
How submissions are reviewed
Every submission goes through an automated safety check before it can appear in the library. The check is fail-safe: if it cannot run, nothing is published. Passing the check means a habit cleared our safety rules — it is not a medical or editorial endorsement. The "Verified" badge is reserved for habits cited to an authoritative source (a book, paper, or named expert); community-submitted habits are always clearly labelled as such.
Your name and your privacy
You choose how you appear. By default, your habit is shared pseudonymously — your name is shown only if you explicitly opt in. We never publish your email or account identifiers. See our Privacy Policy for how community content is handled, retained, and deleted.
Reporting
If you see a habit that breaks these guidelines, tap the flag on the habit — from the library, from your home tracker, or within a stack. Reports are reviewed, and content that violates the rules is removed for everyone. For anything urgent, or about a person's safety, email support@gila.coach.
Blocking
You can block a contributor. Once blocked, you will no longer see their submitted habits anywhere in the app.
Removal, takedown & appeal
- You can withdraw a habit you published at any time.
- We remove content that violates these guidelines, and may suspend community sharing for repeat or serious violations.
- We act on confirmed reports within 24 hours.
- To request removal of your content, or to appeal a decision, email support@gila.coach — a person will respond.
Changes
We may update these guidelines as the community grows. Material changes will appear here with a new effective date.
